Michael Coburn is a senior cybersecurity executive with 25+ years of hands-on leadership spanning security architecture, cloud governance, identity management, compliance frameworks, and enterprise IT. He currently serves as Interim CISO for NEAR AI and IT & Security Director for NEAR Foundation — a Web3 foundation supporting one of the world’s largest Layer 1 blockchains.
His career spans healthcare, AI, Web3, hospitality, government, and financial services. He has built security programs from scratch for organizations ranging from early-stage startups to 22,000-employee enterprises. He is a PhD Candidate in Cybersecurity Management at Nova Southeastern University and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
